Embracing happiness

Ida Therapeutic Counselling Wilmslow

As a therapist, I encourage my clients to seek out moments of joy, engage in activities that nourish the soul, and embrace daily opportunities for happiness whenever possible.

These moments serve as fuel for positivity, which in turn activates key neurotransmitters in the brain—serotonin, dopamine, endorphins, and oxytocin. These “feel-good” chemicals can instantly elevate your mood, and with consistent practice, they contribute to a greater sense of well-being and inner happiness.

By intentionally discovering and cultivating happiness, we equip ourselves to better navigate the stresses and challenges of daily life. I know this firsthand—I’ve practiced it, and it truly work

Moments of joy can be:

  • A cup of coffee made just how you like it.
  • A warm bubble bath.
  • Lighting and smelling your favourite candle.
  • Listening to music that reflects your feelings, uplifting, calming etc.
  • Holding a loved one’s hand.
  • Smiling at others.
  • Calling somebody that you hold dear to you on the telephone.
  • Eating your favourite nutritious food/meal.
  • Internally complimenting yourself and externally others

My moments…

I often spend my moments in The Carrs, Wilmslow. Strolling in the sunshine or walking in the cold fresh air that awakens my soul. I love to feel the ground below my feet and the never ending sky above my head, and to remind myself how wonderful it is to be alive.
